ALI Certified Automotive Lift Inspections
Did you know OSHA requires annual automotive lift inspections and lift operator training? Many lift owners are not aware of this, but OSHA’s General Duty Clause, Section 5(a)(1), requires annual lift inspections and lift operator training. OSHA references ANSI/ALI ALOIM: 2008 as the standard for Automotive Lift Operation, Inspection, and Maintenance.
Safety and Environmental Assessments
AutoTek conducts regular onsite loss control assessments to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. After our assessment, we hold a safety committee meeting with company representatives to discuss violations identified during the assessment. AutoTek will document the assessment, recommend corrective actions and document the meeting minutes to comply with your company’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
OSHA Employee Safety Training
The automotive industry tends to experience high employee turnover. With this much turnover, you need to ensure your employees are properly trained on all OSHA-required safety programs. Our experienced trainers will document all the training to comply with your businesses' Injury and Illness Prevention (IIPP) requirements.
OSHA Written Safety Programs
Did you know OSHA's most common fines result from not having written programs? AutoTek can develop any OSHA written safety program, equipment manual or Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) required for your business. Our written programs are OSHA compliant and customized to meet your specific business operations. We’ll ensure your written programs are updated as your operations and regulations change.
Hazard Communication: GHS / SDS Compliance
AutoTek can help you comply with OSHA’s Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. We’ll send a Technician to your business to conduct a hazardous materials (HAZMAT) inventory. We’ll contact all vendors and obtain compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all hazardous materials identified during the inventory. Finally, we'll provide you with a printed SDS binder and online access to your secure Customer Portal where all SDS's will be stored for anytime access.
Hazardous Waste Management
Automotive businesses typically generate several kinds of potentially hazardous waste, including waste solvents, contaminated rags, used oil, waste antifreeze, used tires, waste batteries, grinding dusts, and contaminated wash waters. Some wastes clearly must be managed as hazardous, while others may require the owner or operator to make that determination. AutoTek will develop a Hazardous Materials Waste Management Plan (HMMP) for your business and help you make hazardous waste determinations. Our network of hazardous waste transporters can provide efficient and compliant hazardous waste removal at a competitive cost.
Licensing, Permitting & Reporting
AutoTek can obtain any type of operating permit or license for your business operation. We act as your agent and put together all the necessary paperwork, you approve it and we submit it on your behalf. We monitor the process from beginning to end.
We are registered in every state and have the capability to submit State Tier II Reports; which are required for hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and hazardous waste (HAZWASTE) disclosures.
OSHA Citation Assistance & Representation
Receiving an OSHA citation can be unnerving. Remember, the citation is just the beginning -- not the end -- of the process. The fines can be meaningless in most cases. The real long term risk to the business is the level of citation classification (i.e. serious, repeat, or willful). AutoTek can help you prepare for scheduled and unscheduled OSHA inspections. We can represent you during an Informal Conference and assist you in responding to a request for documentation / information from OSHA. We can also help you contest your citation or request a reduction to a proposed penalty.
Corporate Sustainability & Recycling
The auto industry is inextricably linked to both the environment and the economy. How the industry handles ecological concerns today is guaranteed to have a corresponding impact on society tomorrow. When considering the ecological and economic impacts of the auto industry, we can look at materials to reduce weight, reuse, regrow and recycle. Today, with the public and automakers alike realizing the need for more aggressive efforts, companies are proactively engineering their vehicles specifically for ease of recycling. Businesses can do their part to complete the automotive circle of life and AutoTek can assist in your efforts!
California Environmental Reporting System (CERS)
AutoTek can manage your CERS compliance. CERS is a California statewide web-based system to support California Unified Program Agencies (CUPAs) and Participating Agencies (PAs) in electronically collecting and reporting various hazardous materials-related data as mandated by the California Health and Safety Code and new 2008 legislation (AB 2286). Under oversight by Cal/EPA, CUPAs implement Unified Program mandates that streamline and provide consistent regulatory activities.
Who has to report?
All businesses regulated by a California Unified Program Agency (CUPA) must submit Unified Program - related information to CERS instead of on paper forms.
What must be reported?
All hazardous materials business plans, chemical inventories, site maps, underground and aboveground tank data, and hazardous waste related data must be reported.
AutoTek clients have access to their own secure ShareFile Customer Portal. This private and secure cloud-based system is the main storage location for all inspection records, permits, licenses, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), manifests, safety programs, and training records. Think of it as your new compliance file cabinet in the cloud! AutoTek will upload, manage, index and OCR (Optical Character Recognize) all your regulatory documents in your portal. This will allow you and anyone you designate, to search, email, and print any document at any time.
